Statewide Election Changes - All Vote-By-Mail Election!

On May 8, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-64-20, which, among other things, orders that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to each voter prior to the November 3, 2020, election—in addition to offering in-person voting locations.

  • Voting Locations will be open Saturday 10/31, Sunday 11/1, and Monday 11/2 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as well as Tuesday 11/3 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Locations across Alameda County, including the Oakland Tech High School Gym. Click here for a map of all locations county-wide.

  • You can Register to Vote up to and including on Election Day at one of the Voting Locations! It's not too late to make your voice heard.

  • Locate an official ballot drop-off box: Drop your ballot off at a 24-hour drop box. Make your vote count—remember to sign the back of your return envelope! Open until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3rd. Find your nearest official ballot box on this map.

  • Sign up to track your ballot with the California Secretary of State at this registration page.

  • Verify your status: In order to be sent a vote-by-mail ballot, you must be a registered voter.
    You can verify your registration online with Alameda County by entering your information at this link.

  • Pre-registration for teens: Online pre-registration is now available for eligible 16 and 17 year olds. California youth who pre-register to vote will have their registration become active once they turn 18 years old. Teens can click here to pre-register to vote.
